    Description
    ANTIQUE SPONGED STONEWARE YELLOWARE PITCHER
    Large and striking antique stoneware/yelloware sponged pitcher in warm brown on a yellow ground. Measuring 8-1/4" in height and about 8-3/4" from spout to handle edge, pitcher is decorated in an exotic Peacock and foliage pattern. Although unmarked, it was made by Brush-McCoy.
    Condition is good with a small flake off the top edge of the spout and very fine spout tip rubbing from use, a fine, tight crack in the handle (I noticed when taking the images), and some pits/ dullness around the top edge from use - there is also a bit of excess clay on the side from kiln contact - finish is shiny and bright. Think it would be a beautiful display piece - color is dramatic - lovely addition to any home or collection!
