The history of this particular instrument you may find interesting.
It belonged to my aunt, Dr. Mae Denton, who sadly passed away a few years back. She was a very serious violinist who at one point in her career played in the Salt Lake Symphony, which was for her a very proud time in her musical career.
This particular violin was her daily practice violin, and not the one she used when playing publicly, although I do know she often used it when enjoying time with her musical friends.
My point about letting you know who owned this violin is to assure you that it was played by a very serious professional musician who considered it a quite valuable and favorite instrument in her collection.
The case is a "Musafia", I am not certain which model it is, although it looks very similar to the Musafia Master Series, which most commonly has three small storage compartments such as this one. In the lid is both a hygrometer and a thermometer.
There is not a key for the case, nor is there a carrying strap.
I found a couple of receipts in the case which may indicate that the instrument was purchased in the 1990's however, that just may be when strings or accessories were acquired.
There are a variety of extras included with this auction, such as strings and some miscellany.
This is a used musical instrument, and the case and bow are used as well.
