The violin has been played on extensively throughout the years (
a good sign). With all the varnish wear, nicks and scratches from over 100 years of being played by countless players to prove it!
indicating that previous owners clearly thought very highly of the violin and enjoyed playing it!
Suitable for any performer or advanced player. The violin has very good power and a clear far fetching tone!
Violin Measurements are :
Length of back: 14 1/16” inches
Top Bout : 6" 5/8 inches
Bottom Bout: 8" 1/8 inches
The violin has no tag inside.
Dark brown Varnish cover the tiger flamed maple two piece back with flamed ribs too. The top is made of fine grained spruce top.
The violin has no sound post cracks to the front or back and no bass bar cracks. With two repaired cracks to the bottom left side, one above the upper left sound hole and chipped and repaired corners. There is also a loose bottom seam due old aged glue drying out. Please note that there is no damage or cracks to the back, scroll neck or ribs. There is some faint writing to the neck.
