Set of Eight Disney Character Plastic XMas Light String:
Make sure you check out my other auctions!  I am always happy to combine  purchases to the extent possible to try and save you some money on shipping.
This is a set of eight plastic canopies that light from within and include Disney character graphics on the outside.  It looks like the characters are printed on water release decals that were then applied to each of the plastic bodies.  All are working great and have either a red or blue bulb inside.  I’m not sure if the bulbs are the correct wattage since after it is lit for a short time, you can start to smell heat so they may need to be replaced with smaller wattage bulbs, but I wanted to show that all were working.  The wiring is all in great shape and appears to be original.  You may want to replace the plug, though, since one of the metal prongs is loose, but it can still be plugged in.  There is a small cardboard tag still attached around the wires at the plug that has the Underwriters seal of approval along with the name “Xmas & Decorative Lighting Unit” on one side.  The other side says Made in USA with the part and patent numbers, For Indoor Use Only, and Noma Electric Corp. New York, NY.  I really have no idea what era these come from but I’m guessing they are pretty old based on this original tag.  Each lamp holder has different graphics on them.  The first shows Mickey, Minnie, and a baby with presents.  The second has a couple Plutos playing musical instruments while Mickey and Minnie sing.  The third Donald Duck, Pluto, Mickey and Minnie.  The fourth shows Pluto, Mickey, Minnie and Donald.  This one shows some small spots of missing graphics, but not horrible.  The fifth shows Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and another character whose name escapes me!  The sixth shows Donald, Pluto, Mickey and Minnie.  The seventh has Donald, Pluto, Mickey and Minnie.  And the eighth shows Pluto, Mickey, Minnie and a Christmas tree.  Overall, seven out of the eight are in excellent condition while the eighth is very nice, but missing small spots of graphics.  All colors are nice and bright with no sign of any fading.  And they are VERY colorful!  Similar to Christmas tree light strings, there is also an outlet near the end of the string that would allow you to plug in another set to extend the length of the string.  This string measures about 8’ long where the sockets are, plus an added length of the outlet and plug end.  Each canopy is about 1.75” tall and 1-11/16” in diameter at the bottom.  This is a nice looking vintage set of Christmas lights, especially with all the Disney character graphics!  It will be a nice addition to any Disney, toy, or Christmas collection!
