Solid 15/16" Ipe Hanbo Staff 35in. long Martial arts/karate/aikido/hiking

This is a handmade solid Ipe Hanbo Staff. Ipe is very hard exotic heavy wood. The Hanbo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. This staff is 35" long. The traditional length for a hanbo staff is 36" making this staff slightly shorter with a much lighter feel then the standard 1" ipe model but still retaining the extra hardness and density of ipe. It feels somewhat between a single tanbo staff with the versatility and reach of a hanbo staff.
Ipe is twice as hard as common American Hickory. It is one of the hardest woods in the world. It has an amazing smooth sturdy feel. It has a beautiful heavy dark brown color.
It is sanded smooth and finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which gives it a permanent shine and protective layer while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
I have also applied a few coats of tru-oil which hardens and gives it some protection to impact and extra shine.
