    Description

This listing is for an ULPA 0.1 μm DIY (Do it yourself) silent air cleaner kit with pre-fillter sheets of HEPA 0.3 μm to pre-filter the air and prolong the life of the finer 0.1 μm ULPA filter. The kit is to do 2 cleaners with 4 filters on each cleaner. Dead silent, no audible noise in a bedroom at night from a distance of 1 meter or more, so it is dead silent unless you stick your ear next to it, you won't hear the fans even slightly working.
    The kit includes:
8 pcs ULPA 0.1μm filters, approximate size of one filter is H x L x W: 100x250x20 mm (please note photo 1, it shows 4 filters but you will receive 8)
8 pcs HEPA 0.3μm pre-filter sheets (please see photo 2)
2 pcs Fans, approx size of fan is 120x120x20 mm (please see photo 3)
1 pcs Power Supply US plug-in type  (please see photo 4 but it actually shows UK style plug)
Power Supply is multi voltage from 100-240v so it can be plugged anywhere in the world (the photo shows UK style plug, but it is available in US and EU plug too, please send me a message which country type you want, otherwise you will be sent an US style plug and then you can buy a plug adapter from your local hardware store for -2 with your own country plug style, after that you first plug the adapter into your wall power outlet and then plug the power supply into the adapter.
The fans and power supply will be connected already when you receive your kit, so all you will need to do is get a box (in the last two photos you can see that I have used an ordinary cardboard box) and cut one opening on the front for the fan and 4 more openings on the back for the 4 filters(see last photo), of course make sure to tape all edges of the box so no air can pass but through the filters only, also tape airtight around the edges of the filters and the fan too. Because the wire between the fans will be short, you will need to stick your two boxes on top of each other or side by side depending on how much space you have. If your box is narrow then try putting one filter on back and one on each side so all 4 filters are installed, it won't work as well with just 1 or 2 filters, try to fit all 4 on your box or get a large box and cut it to the proper size for all 4 filters to fit on the back.
My own personal observations based on my own breathing and how effective diffrent cleaners were for me:
High pressure HEPA (the type that is common in stores) I noticed about 20% impovement in air quality, not to mention the noise these machines made even on the whisper quiet or whatever setting was for night time.
High pressure HEPA with electrostatic prefilter from the type that is being sold for furnaces that I placed in front of the hepa filter, total was about 30% efffective.
High pressure ULPA is about 60%.
Low pressure ULPA is about 80%.
Ultra low pressure ULPA is about 95%.
Ultra low pressure ULPA (the kit that you would receive) is about 95% effective for me. Ultra low means the fans were adjusted to make very gentle breeze based on my testing and what seemed to be the most effective to my breathing. To understand this think of how your vacuum cleaner operates with its motor on high speed, the pressure is very high and it will crumple and suck in a much larger piece of clothing through the small opening, but putting the motor on low, the pressure drops and the clothing gets stuck at the opening because there is not enough pressure to crumple it and squeeze it through. That's what I think is at work with air cleaners too and that's why I find their effectiveness to be different based on filter type and pressure level, those are the too variable that I have used to modify during testing to see what works best based on my own breathing. Two cleaners with 4 filters on each is the bare minimum in an airtight room of 3x3x2.4 meters in my own experience, you should probably look into adding more cleaners for larger rooms, such as 4 or 6 cleaners, because they are silent, you can easily add more.
People's breathing and sensitivity could obviously differ, so what I find effective for me might not be for you, so you should seek qualified medical advice before deciding to use this or any other type of cleaner. The kit has not been tested in a lab so I can't tell you what it catches or doesn't etc, or what size room and air volume would work in your specific case, I only used my own breathing as a guide when experimenting with different types of filters and fans, so I could obviously be mistaken about effectiveness etc. I read in an online article(I think it was an university research paper or something) that there are two types of particles in the air: heavy ones that settle within 10-15 minutes to the ground after being disturbed and light ones that never settle and stay in the air all the time, that's what I think they were saying in that article. What I suspect is that the large heavy particles is what makes the filters turn grey and kind of dirty looking so it appear the cleaner is working but it never really catches the smaller light particles that never settle to the ground on their own, that is what I suspect happens with the standard high pressure cleaners. The low pressure and low airflow kit you are buying will still get its pre-filter sheets turning grey with use because it will still get some of the large particles trapped before they have had time to settle to the ground in 10 or 15 minutes, but it won't get dirty as fast as a high airflow cleaner with particles that are heavy and would fall to the ground on their own without the need of an air cleaner. One exception is a room with frequent movements inside where you have constantly large dust particles being disturbed into the air, in this case you will need more low flow cleaners than just the two low flow cleaners to make a difference, this would also be valid for a room where you open doors and windows frequently or have drafts and air changes inside the room frequently, you will need a lot of low flow cleaners to make a difference.
If you need to remove smells also, then you can find from a hardware store a cabron filter sheets that you can cut to smaller sizes yourself and put on top of the hepa prefilter sheet so air passes first through the carbon piece, then through the hepa sheet and finally through the ULPA filter. Just using a small piece of tape to hold the carbon piece in place is fine so you can easily remove it when it turns dusty and put a fresh one on.
The photos in the listing are for illustration purposes only and the actual parts you would receive could look somewhat different than the photos depending on the supplier the parts are bought from. I can only sell spare parts to buyers who have purchased kits already.
PLEASE allow around 3 to 6 weeks on average for your parts to be ordered, arrive, then fans and power supply wires connected and soldered, then everything packaged and shipped to you. Thank you.
